Artist Bio
Dr Brigitta Zics is an artist and academic who creates works with visual and material sensitivity that seeks to fashion new experiences. Working on the convergence of art and science she explores mixed-media forms combining narrative techniques with emerging technologies. She is an Associate Professor of Digital Media at Knowledge Lab, University of College London. Her work has been exhibited internationally including Gwangju Korea, Maribor Slovenia, Vitória Brazil, Los Angeles, London, Budapest and published at Leonardo (MITpress) and other academic journals (Springer, Taylor & Francis). Her book, The Transparent Act (2018), provides an interdisciplinary analysis of interactivity in art. In 2004 her work was nominated for the International Media Art Award at ZKM, in 2005 she was selected for one of Europe's Best Multimedia Artists.
