Elli Papakonstantinou
Artist Bio
While revisiting the classics and creating immersive experiences, Papakonstantinou connects notions of myth, philosophy and major narratives of our days. Named a Visiting CCRMA Scholar by Stanford University, a visiting scholar by Princeton University and nominated twice with a Fulbright Artist’s Award, she is the founder of the international multi-award winning company ODC Ensemble.
Recent creations include award winning Traces of Antigone, digital Opera Aède Of the Ocean and Land, Oedipus: Sex with Mum was Blinding that premiered at the BAM (Brooklyn Academy of Music), and The Kindly Ones presented at the Mauthausen Concentration Camp Memorial in Austria and invited to Avignon Festival 2021. Currently commissioned by the National Theatre of Sweden to write and direct “Alcestis” in 2021.
