Artist Bio
I am an interdisciplinary artist working in both traditional and digital mediums. When I draw I want to reveal something in my psyche to myself; I call this work “unbidden.” When I photograph I look for representational form or metaphor; this could be called “visual poetics.” Drawing requires yielding and a deep listening, while the camera or media work is realized through active conscious pursuit. These pathways are always crossing one another. Particularly, it is through the media work that I am drawn into philosophical questions about the nature of life and consciousness and the work is grounded in these ideas, most notably I am nurtured by the idea that time may be a living being.
