Artist Bio
Peter van Haaften is a multidisciplinary composer based in Montreal. He creates live performances, interactive installations, and music for speakers. Peter’s artistic practice musically reimagines the notion of algorithm as a revealing process that can be observed in the vibrating behavior of ordinary objects. His projects have been presented internationally at Ars Electronica (AT), the Japan Media Arts Festival (JP), Biennale Némo (FR), FILE Hipersônica (BR), ELEKTRA Festival (QC) and more. He holds a master‘s in musique composition et création sonore from the Université de Montréal, and a BFA in Electroacoustic Studies from Concordia University.
