Artist Bio
Thor Sigstedt, 63, is a life-long Santa Fean, though raised by artists and musicians in the Andy-of-Mayberry town of Idyllwild; also Oakhurst (right below Yosemite Park), Colorado Springs and Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Thor has attended, for various stretches, a host of schools and colleges and is a self proclaimed outsider artist/sculptor. He has homesteaded a beautiful property with an amazing cliff on one side and 1/2 mile of creek through the middle, since 1979, building his own homes, a 3,000 square foot studio, a Japanese "Teahouse" and many other structures (as well as many others in the area) and has professionally made custom fine and rustic furniture, branched off into bronze, cast iron and glass. He has also raised his family of three children, and two step-children. He was represented on a Canyon Road gallery for a few years and writes a monthly page, with graphics and photos, for the Santa Fe Monthly, entitled "Sunrise and Sunset in Santa Fe". He is also a musician and local dancer.
