San Francisco, CA USA
Yagmur Uyanik is an architect with a professional interest in media art and sound. She studied Architecture in Istanbul, Turkey and currently is a graduate student with a Fulbright scholarship and SFAI Fulbright Fellowship in San Francisco Art Institute’s MFA program, majoring in New Genres department. Mainly, her work includes a combination of sound and spatial concepts. She is working on inner soundscape ecology ideas which may be generated by the nature of the objects and turning the physical form to a new instrument with the sound of its own making. That is to say, she is endeavoring to translate the dialog between sound and material, to a dialog between audience and the surrounding space.
