The acclaimed, citywide CURRENTS NEW MEDIA Festival will open its tenth year on Friday, June 7, 2019 at El Museo Cultural and in the Santa Fe Railyard District. For the following two weeks, the oldest capital city in the United States will once again host a national and international roster of new media artists exhibiting extraordinary work and visitors eager to experience this distinct Festival. Next year will feature 100 artists from around the US and the globe.
CURRENTS features groundbreaking artists working to transform evolving technologies into poignant, entertaining, beautiful and provocative expression through Interactive Environments, Installations, Outdoor Installations and Projections, Virtual/Augmented/Mixed Reality Environments, Robotics, Multimedia Performance, Digitally Generated Objects, Interactive Installations for Children, Single Channel Video and Animation, and Experimental Documentary. It’s an experience that delights locals and visitors year after year.
Not only will you be able to immerse yourself in this one of a kind experience but you can explore our beautiful, world renowned city with it’s unique architecture, vibrant cultural life and excellent restaurants. A short drive out of town will take you to some of the most beautiful landscapes in the Southwest where you can also visit several Native American Pueblos. New Mexico is a great place for hiking, camping, backpacking, biking and rafting or for just kicking back and relaxing.
