Federal Funding for Art, Technology, and Emerging Media Forms
Presented by: Sarah Burford
Media Arts Specialist | Visual Arts
National Endowment for the arts

Learn how to apply for funding from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) to support projects at the intersection of art, technology, and emerging media. This presentation will introduce first-time applicants to NEA opportunities that support the artistic exploration of old and new technologies, including creative or open-source code, virtual/augmented/mixed reality, analog and digital media, performance works, and emerging platforms. Presented by Sarah Burford, NEA Media Arts Specialist, the session will be followed by an open Q&A discussion and the opportunity to talk further about potential projects.

Sarah manages the Endowment’s Media Arts grant portfolio and contributes to field-building resources for arts organizations working with film, video, audio, immersive technology, and emerging media forms. Before joining the NEA, she worked in curatorial and grant-making roles at the Institute of Contemporary Art, Philadelphia and the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation.
