The Lea County Commission for the Arts will present its 2nd annual New Media New Mexico Exhibition on Saturday, June 11 from 7-9pm at the Center for the Arts. The exhibition will feature animated projection installations, one channel videos and 3d installations from various new media artists from around the state and country, including Roswell artist, Dusty Deen, Tempe, Arizona’s Dan Collins, Denver, Colorado’s Patricia McInroy and new media students from Jefferson Elementary, Southern Heights Elementary and Taylor Elementary.
In partnership with the Santa Fe Currents New Media International Festival, LCCA will also present its first annual outdoor Visionfest on the Shipp Street Plaza on the same night as the opening. The Visionfest will feature interactive new media installation projections on various walls and surfaces by students from the Santa Fe University of Art & Design’s Film School. The Visionfest is completely free & open to the public. Live entertainment by local bands and food truck vendors will also be present. Come meet the artists and enjoy this technological adventure of art in culture in Downtown Hobbs, NM. The exhibition will remain on display at the Center for the Arts until August 6th.
