If you are 19 or younger you may submit work in any category Free of charge.
Follow the submission requirements for each Category.



This Year’s Categories include:

New Media Installations, Outdoor New Media Installations and Architectural Mapping, Single Channel Video and Animation, Multimedia Performance, Fulldome, Experimental or Interactive Documentary, Web-Art/Art-Gaming/Mobile Device Apps, Oculus Rift, Robotics, 3D Printing and Interactive Installations for Children.

Submission Form Instructions

Work Samples

  • video work samples must be viewable online (personal website, YouTube, Vimeo, Dropbox, etc).
  • uploaded video still captures should be full file resolution .jpg only
  • uploaded photos and other images – minimum size 300 dpi, 5″x 8″ ( the larger the better ), .jpg only

Submission Fee schedule is as follows:
One Submission = $20 (USD)
Two or More Submissions in one or multiple categories = $15 (USD) for each submission
The Submission Fee for each entry must be paid separately
Submission is FREE for those 18 years old or younger.

You are welcome to submit multiple entries in one or more Categories.
You must submit a new form for each entry.

Follow these steps to fill out the Submission Form:

  • Fill out the general information at the top of the Form. About half way down select the Category you wish to submit your work in. Once you have selected the Category you can fill out the remainder of the Form. You are welcome to submit multiple entries in one or more categories. You must submit a new form for each entry and pay separately for each form.
  • Once you have submitted the form you will be directed to PayPal to pay your fee. You will be able to pay via PayPal or use a credit card ( artists 18 or younger will skip this step and go directly to a confirmation page ). Once you have paid your fee a confirmation page will appear. If you wish to enter another submission you can select the HERE button. You will receive an email confirmation of your submission with a copy of the form you submitted.
  • If you are unable to use a credit card you can mail a check to:

If you select “Yes, I am mailing a check”, once you submit you will still be sent to PaypPal. Just exit Paypal. You will receive a confirmation of your submission. You can then return to the Currents website if you would like submit another form. Pay for all entries with one check.

New Media Installations (video, sound, interactive)
Installation artists are eligible for travel, lodging and shipping assistance.

Submissions must include:

Outdoor New Media Installations and Architectural Mapping
Installations and mapping can be either interactive or not. The works will be presented int the Santa Fe Railyard Plaza adjacent to the Festival’s main exhibition at El Museo Cultural on opening weekend – June 10-11. This year we are including installations designed for presentation in trucks (i.e. UHaul moving truck), vans or other mobile vehicles.

Installation artists are eligible for travel, lodging and shipping assistance.

Submissions must include:

Single Channel Video and Animation
Submissions must be 6 minutes or less in length.

Multimedia Performance

Fulldome @ Institute of American Indian Arts
We are looking for work that makes use of the dome for its artistic potential rather than as a museum presentation or dome demonstration. All thematic concepts will be considered.

Initial review of your work will be viewed online (personal website, YouTube, Vimeo, Dropbox, etc).

If your work is selected you must provide:

File format: .mov or .mp4 file with H264 or ProRes422 codec
Embedded 5.1 surround sound (recommended) or stereo sound
A 2k (2048 x 2048) or 4k (4096 x 4096) pixel resolution domemaster
with title at beginning and credits at the end of work
No watermarks or logos in viewable area.

Experimental or Interactive Documentary
We are looking for documentaries which are considered by their creators as art works that use video as a medium in all its variety. The work can be of personal, social or impressionistic nature.
Special guidelines for this category are:
No more than two submissions – short pieces 1-20 mins – feature pieces 45-90 mins

Submissions must include:

Web-Art, Art-Gaming, Mobile Device Apps
 (phone, iPad,etc)
We are looking for artists who are developing applications or websites as an art form, not as portfolio or commercial promotion. Websites may be interactive but do not have to be.

Submissions must include:

Oculus Rift

Interactive art works or expeimental documentaries created for the Oculus Rift
