Submission Guidelines for CURRENTS 2015 / June 12 – 28
Artists’ Submissions for CURRENTS 2015 are now CLOSED except for High and Middle School Students.

If you are 18 or younger you may submit work in any category Free of charge.
Follow the submission requirements for each Category.
Please read these Guidelines before filling out the Submission Form!
You will be able to access the Form at the bottom of each Category listing below.
This year’s Categories include:
New Media Installations, Outdoor Architectural Mapping and New Media Installations, Single Channel Video and Animation, Multimedia Performance, Fulldome, Experimental or Interactive Documentary, Web-Art/Art-Gaming/Mobile Device Apps, Oculus Rift, Robotics and 3D Printing.
Submission Form Instructions
We prefer to view work samples online (personal website, YouTube, Vimeo etc).

Image requirements:
video still captures should be full file resolution .jpg only
photos and other images – minimum size 300 dpi, 5″x 8″ ( the larger the better ), .jpg only
You are welcome to submit multiple entries in one or more Categories. You must submit a new form for each entry.
Follow these steps to fill out the Submission Form:
– Fill out the general information at the top of the Form. Select “Yes, I am 18 years old or Younger”. About half way down select the Category you wish to submit your work in. Once you have selected the Category you can fill out the remainder of the Form. You are welcome to submit multiple entries in one or more categories. You must submit a new form for each entry.
– Be sure you have selected “Yes, I am 18 years old or Younger”. Once you hit the Submit button at the bottom of the page you will receive an email confirmation of your submission with a copy of the form you submitted.

Category A – New Media Installations (video, sound, interactive)
Installation artists are eligible for travel, lodging and shipping assistance.
You may also apply to be considered for the Santa Fe Art Institute Residency Award.
Submissions must include:
- a completed online submission form
- brief written bio/bios (to be included on our website) / max 150 words each
- the title of the work and a brief written installation description for each submission (this may be included in our program or catalog)
- a website or URL where work can be seen (see work sample description above)
- upload a CV/resume .pdf only
- upload 2 to 3 still images of the proposed work or previous work for each submission in this category (see image requirements above) .jpg only
- upload an installation or performance floor plan for each submission indicating ideal space requirements / .jpg or .pdf only

- an equipment list (indicating which equipment you will need the festival to supply) .pdf only

Category B – Outdoor Architectural Mapping and New Media Installations

Category C – Single Channel Video and Animation
Submissions must be 6 minutes or less in length.
Submissions must include:

Category D – Multimedia Performance
Multimedia Performance artists are eligible for travel, lodging and shipping assistance.

Category E – Fulldome
We are looking for work that makes use of the dome for its artistic potential rather than as a museum presentation or dome demonstration. All thematic concepts will be considered.
If your work is selected you must provide:
File format: .mov file with H264 or Apple ProRes 422 codec
Embedded surround sound up to 6.1 channels or stereo sound
2k (2048 x 2048) pixel resolution
No watermarks or logos in viewable area
Submissions must include:

Category F – Experimental or Interactive DocumentaryWe are looking for documentaries which are considered by their creators as art works that use video as a medium in all its variety. The work can be of personal, social or impressionistic nature.
Special guidelines for this category are:
No more than two submissions – short pieces 1-20 mins – feature pieces 45-90 mins
Submissions must include:

Category G – Web-Art, Art-Gaming, Mobile Device Apps (phone, iPad,etc)
We are looking for artists who are developing applications or websites as an art form, not as portfolio or commercial promotion. Websites may be interactive but do not have to be.
Submissions must include:

Category H – Oculus Rift
Interactive art works or expeimental documentaries created for the Oculus Rift
