A Road in India (2079) is a speculative film that explores alternative histories and futures of India, inspired by the 1938 British Film Institute classic. This film, set in 2079, intertwines key events from ancient history, the colonial era, and futuristic visions to create a rich, multi-layered narrative. Through the eyes of Meenakshi, a cultural cyborg, viewers journey through India’s past and future, encountering ancient automatons, colonial steampunk innovations, and advanced AI. The film blends traditional Indian heritage with speculative advancements, capturing a vivid and immersive portrayal of India’s enduring yet evolving cultural landscape.
