Caligo Paean is a 1 hour long sound piece commissioned for the 2025 Ten Days on The Island Festival in Tasmania March 2025. It explores the myth of Caligo, the Ancient goddess of Chaos. Born of the fog she controls the darkness, dwells in the void and is as old as the primordial matter that created the universe. The work was installed in several outdoor locations across a property on the river front appropriately shrouded in fog and slowly revealing itself as the day came to life becoming to life as the day. It features field recordings taken from the exhibition site, bass guitar, intonarumori and voice. This work is a tribute to the power of ancient beliefs, the flow of time, and our connection with nature through occult knowledge.
