Your Chance Encounter / Hollow Noise
Fujui WANG is a Taiwanese artist based in Taipei. His work is focused on the intuitive listening experience, incorporating different individual lives, personalities and memories. The sound installation "Hollow Noise" uses multiple, directional, hypersonic speakers to generate several tightly focused beams of sound. The sound is like wind blowing through our ears from various directions. Through movement of the kinetic installation, these audio beams become similar to Laser light refracting between mirrors. The artist purposely creates the multiple refractions of audio beams in the space, through our listening experience, in order to create a new sounding space.
The presentation of the exhibition "Your Chance Encounter" is made possible by the generous support of the Ministry of Culture/Republic of China (Taiwan), the Taiwan Academy and IDOLON STUIDO.
