Concrete Shape
"Concrete Shape" is a site-specific film created and performed by Jesi Jordan over a bed of lava rocks at the Diego Rivera Anahuacalli Museum in Mexico City. This experimental film was made in collaboration with Mother Earth, using discarded organic materials as film props and hand made special effects. The film features props and special effects made from biodegradable materials such as Oaxacan clay, lava rocks, cactus husks, chicken eggs, and water. This abstract narrative explores themes of intergenerational transmission, hardening of emotions and beliefs, breaking free from inherited patterns, and the journey in search of the self. The film embodies the experience of the Earth transforming you as it swallows you whole.
