Continuum FM
‘Continuum FM’ is a multimedia poem from the embodied perspective of a pirate radio signal which is reimagined as a distributed intelligence. This ties into Andy Clark and David Chalmers thesis of The Extended Mind (1998) in which technologies, such as radio waves, extend beyond limits of the self.
‘Continuum FM’ provides philosophical commentary on the myriad of musical ecosystems that have sprouted from the black diaspora and cultural labour of the London working class. Specifically arguing for the emancipatory potential of pirate radio as an outlet for diverse communities from lower socio-economic backgrounds. The soundtrack consists of ambient remixes from the artist’s upcoming album and speculative 3D worlds rendered with Unreal Engine, to illustrate sonic concepts within the video essay.
