"Cuboids" (work in progress), consist of three human scale painterly cubic structures that have been repainted over a dozen times since 2009, a series of photographs and a video. "Cuboids" are simultaneously sculptural and utilitarian objects, resembling tables or pedestals. They have constantly changed their location, colors and position over the past six years. "Cuboids" may simply be seen as an innocent commentary on various artistic media such as painting, sculpture, installation or performance. However the work exists within the context of the recent economic crisis where artists often cannot afford to create works that may have existed just as work of art in a conventional sense. Therefore it also raises questions related to the artistic production as well as the sense and limits of artistic activities.
