I have been digitally altering my own drawings and photographs since 2016. In 2020, I shifted from the idea of one image as a ‘finished product’ to creating sequences of related images, in much the same way as I approach drawing, painting and monotype printing. Multiple apps, filters and programs are used in each sequence.
Ordering these series into a ‘flipbook’ or zoetrope effect echoes the pioneering early forms of animation.
The original source material and this zoetrope approach imbue the results with an art-historical flavor.
I have been creating and editing videos of sequential art that evoke surrealism, cubism, pop art, futurism and baroque/classical traditions.
