"Envelop" is an interactive installation depicting drapery wrapped around a building or architectural form. The depiction of drapery has a long tradition in the arts and is a stand-in for symbolic depictions or interpretations. Aldous Huxley stated in his book "The Doors of Perception,“ "...draperies are living hieroglyphs that stand in some peculiarly expressive way for the unfathomable mystery of pure being.”
I use projection mapping to simulate building facades enveloped with interactive flowing drapery that visitors can interact with. I want to create a public space where people can interact with the “...unfathomable mystery of pure being...”.
