Geode
Friday and Saturday Evenings on Opening Weekend.
Geode is a video mapped sculpture that results from our analysis of images in three dimensional space. The project departs from a post-constructive thought in which we ask ourselves about the aesthetic of non-orthogonal geometric shapes, using mathematical models based on points and infinite planes. In this way, we accomplish a pseudo-fractal and organic shape that glows like the Geodes. We visualize noise by modulating analog signals in real-time. The 10-feet-tall structure becomes a scene in a series of public audiovisual performances. The sound is generated through modular audio synthesis (CV/ Gate). The sound data affects the intensity of the experience through wireless (Bluetooth) communication. GEODE is a collaborative effort to fuse public sculpture, soundscape, and visual projection into one interactive and immersive experience. A glowing crystal formation stands in the landscape, inviting viewers to reach out from the distance.
