HORANGI is a short animated film based on a dream where I was visited by a tiger. She led me to an open field where I laid beside her and her kin. In the dream, I felt equal parts fear and admiration. There was a skittering balance between us existing as predator and prey and as two beings in union. This experience of fraught symbiosis and tenuous harmony has sat with me ever since. HORANGI attempts to capture these myriad tactile feelings and emotions and also utilizes the imagery of the dream to convey the possible dynamics between myself and the tiger, extrapolating into the more mythological and metaphysical spaces of both bodies and visualizing what a state of harmony and process of metamorphosis can mean.
