I’m Here Now
I'm Here Now is a site-specific installation that explores the asynchronous existence between individuals by manipulating space, time, and perception. Drawing inspiration from the solar eclipse and the dynamic between mankind and the universe, I see similarities in the corporeal relationships between human entities and celestial bodies. As we go about our daily lives, we routinely move closer to, drift apart from, and sometimes revolve around each other. In the process, we tend to see each other's existence in distortion and obscurity. The physical distance between us also suggests that we experience realities at different times. Positioned in a liminal space, where people pass through and never stay, this installation portrays my journey of crafting an identity, existing in solitude, while reconciling with distorted and obscured views of self in a foreign land.
