Nightfield
"Nightfield" is a multi-sensory media installation that uses sonic vibrations on traditional Korean paper to transform papers suspended in air into an immersive and embodied journey. Through aural, tactile, and kinesthetic registers, visitors interact with the sonic field by touching, listening closely, and moving through the dazzlingly translucent paper strips and the quiet howling winds that are everywhere, yet remain mysterious in their directionality.
The intimate contact with the papers reveals to the listener’s ear an enigmatic space with ambiguous boundaries. This evocative spatiality resonates with the inner memories of the listeners while connecting them to nature through the affective materiality of the paper.
