Reconstructing Reality
It is an 11-min film about how information shapes our minds and perception of reality. I investigated how different ways of storytelling contribute to our constantly changing perception of reality. The red thread is based on a personal story. It is edited with found footage, a collage of different ‘voices’ captivates the viewer to see how reality is constructed and reconstructed time after time. Storytelling can create reality that engages audiences to feel an urgency, a sense of threat or justice, or simply the need to buy something. She feels an urge as well as a responsibility to narrate stories that can introduce different perspectives and let the audiences look beyond layers that comprise reality. A real story is an oxymoron.
