Rio Grande Basin Watershed Wall
The Rio Grande Watershed Wall is a 3d interactive sculpture - 9' tall x 9' wide x 1' deep steel frame that ultimately is the support structure and reservoir for a rain screen of falling water that captures the light and color of projected images. The structure itself contains a reservoir at the bottom for the water to fall into. Pumps within the reservoir recirculate the water through pipes back up to the drip system that is located on the top of the structure allowing for the water to continuously fall. The sculpture creates a pixelated screen of water droplets capturing the light of the projector from one side while enabling the viewers to see the projections from the other side. The projections contain images and videos captured from natural and cultural landscapes of the Rio Grande Watershed telling the story of life centered around the importance of water.
