Selected Places to Sit is 5 sculptures created by feeding hand-drawn stylized illustrations of seating through an image-to-3D AI model then 3D printing and painting the resulting inferred 3D bodies. The piece highlights and celebrates the sometimes-goofy decisions that AI models can make when given unexpected inputs, and uses old (markers, paint) and new (AI, 3D printing) technology to bring those artifacts back into the physical world.
