For the past few years, the artist has made pen and ink drawings of Sirius, amassing hundreds of original drawings of a single subject. Images are hand-made then set in motion with stop frame style animation, to bring to life the “Sirius Incoming” installation- which intends to provide a novel, vivid simulation of this stargazer's experience. Because we look at screens from three inches to 3 feet away, all day, it feels good to bend our spine the opposite way and take in the night sky. Extending our view into space, does for the eyes what reversing the spine does for the brain. Our nervous system gets an overhaul, right before dreaming.
