STORMING THE BEACHES WITH LOGOS IN HAND: Burgh
Burgh is the newest work-in-progress chapter of Luke Bern Carr’s evolving multimedia opera, STORMING THE BEACHES WITH LOGOS IN HAND. First introduced at CURRENTS in 2014 and expanded with the immersive production Mudfields in 2017, the saga now returns in a more intimate but equally expansive form. Performed solo with live instruments, voice, and projection, Burgh explores a shifting fictional terrain shaped by contested histories and unstable mythologies. Carr weaves music and narrative together as a cartographer of emotional landscapes, revealing a world where contradictions generate the terrain itself.
This in-development presentation invites audiences to witness a universe mid-construction—its scaffolding exposed, its atmospheres forming—offering a rare glimpse into the next phase of a long-term generative project that blends sound, image, and story.
