The genesis of this creation comes from something I have heard several times. The average distance between our heads and hearts is 18 inches. Besides the proposal for this installation in CURRENTS I am simultaneously working on some new art pieces that are using 18” ladders propped against prints of the black ink imagery. This short mysterious distance of eighteen inches has really captured my artistic attention. What is the balance between the two? Where do we spend most of out time?
