The Thin Veil was made at a residency at the Cill Rialaig Project, in Co. Kerry, in southwest Ireland, on the side of a mountain, on what feels like the edge of the world. The area is steeped in neolithic sites as well as early Christian ruins. It is said in old Irish culture that An Caol Áit is an area that is a narrow passage between this world and another. Cill Rialaig gives the impression of such a connection. The water can feel like a rare thing; crystal clear, cold, alive, spiritual and precious. Its complexity is infinite.
