Audio-Visual Performance
FEVER (Part 1) by David Stout
El Museo Cultural Theater
555 Camino de la Familia, Santa Fe, NM 87501
A premiere performance excerpted from an evolving multi-part live cinema work combining electronic sound, song, storytelling, and interactive animation. The neologism, fEVER shares allusions to rising temperatures that manifest in bodily, environmental, and social inflammation. Symptoms that coalesce in the vivid hallucinations of a fever dream state that include lucid encounters with the infinite; noting that fEVER is also a contraction of the word, forever. This pulsating audio-visual tapestry is a journey between worlds, where intercultural aesthetics, animistic visions and empirical realities, collide, mix and recombine. A place where the journey begins as it ends, where the abstract resides within the figurative, and stories coalesce and evaporate as if written in water.
