Barthelemy Antoine
Artist Bio
Barthélemy Antoine-Loeff is a french new media artist, director and performer, co-funder of the new media art and stage art collective Iduun.
He works with pictures as a raw material ; it's a starting point to explore new narrative forms, complex, free, sometimes interactives, for performances or installations. His poetic universe deals with « unsaid », (distorted) reality and the search of a balance that can break in a second, combining new media and a low tech dimension in his work.
When he co-funded iduun in 2007, he was focused on using realtime video. The performance « Exil » use the evocative the sounds to express the unshowable, and the minimalistic images to transport the audience in an world that need to be filled using the imagination of the audience.
In 2010, he creates with iduun the audiovisual and cinema show « Kadâmbini », a “Total Show” in which stage and screen are one, a cross-disciplinary performance designed as many doors to the world of nightmares.
In parallel to his work for the stage, he creates new media installations like “Ljós”.
