Khalil Charif
Artist Bio
Khalil Charif is an artist who lives and works in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (b. 1967). In the late 90's, he studied at Parsons School and New York University. Afterwards, he obtained a post-graduate degree in Art History at PUC-Rio (among further studies in Art-Philosophy). Recently he accomplished the Advanced Programs of the Escola de Artes Visuais do Parque Lage, in his hometown. His awards include Prêmio Interações Florestais 2011 (Brazil), ExperimentoBIO 2013 (Spain) and Special Prize Art Nova 100 in the Arte Laguna Prize 2017 (Italy). He has participated in several exhibitions and festivals, including XIX Bienal de Cerveira, Portugal, 2017; Dublin Biennial, Ireland, 2014; International Triennale of Contemporary Art, Czech Republic, 2008; Rencontres Internationales Paris/Berlin/Madrid, France, Germany, Spain, 2007-2008.
