Michelle Hessel is a multimedia artist born in Sao Paulo and based in NYC. Her work inverts traditional storytelling focusing on 3D technology and virtual representations of culture such as food, people and spaces. Michelle has a B.A. in Social Communications and in 2017 she obtained her Master's degree at New York University's Interactive Telecommunications Program, where she also did a 1-year art residency after graduating. Michelle’s projects have been featured by The Economist, VICE Media, Communication Arts and Currents New Media (2018 and 2019). She has taught interactive media at New York University (NYU), City University of New York (CUNY) and at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT).
