Metaesthetica is a research-driven design collective founded by Mert Toka (computational designer and graphics engineer), Iason Paterakis (architect-engineer and media artist), Nefeli Manoudaki (architect-engineer and media artist), Diarmid Flatley (composer and media artist), and Stejara Dinulescu (haptics researcher and media artist). Moving beyond the production of static artifacts, the collective integrates algorithms, material intelligence, and synthetic bio-inspired design to construct environments in which form and meaning emerge from human-machine interaction, where computational and biological entities become active participants in the creative process, resulting in installations, research artifacts, and hybrid digital-physical works that integrate themes from human-computer interaction, generative systems, biodata-driven environments, spatial media, metacomposition, and embodied computation.
