Peter Nelson
Artist Bio
Peter Bonde Becker Nelson (b. 1981) grew up in rural Minnesota. He earned a BA in Studio Art from St. Olaf College in 2004 and an MFA in Interdisciplinary Visual Arts at the University of Washington in 2010. Peter is now on faculty at St. Olaf College in the Department of Art & Art History.
Nelson works in photography, video, audio, and performance. Through these processes, he gathers and interprets images and audio of ordinary people in an attempt to reveal the subtle discrepancies of daily life. His artwork grapples with the nuances of human connection: love, friendship, intimacy, frustration and loss.
