Raull Santiago is a social entrepreneur, cultural producer and human rights activist from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He co-founded a number of successful favela-based initiatives, including Coletivo Papo Reto, Movimentos and Perifa Connection. Santiago is also a member of Amnesty International Brazil’s Assembly and a special advisor at the Center for Studies on Public Security and Citizenship (CESeC). As a resident of Complexo do Alemão, one of Rio’s biggest complex of favelas, Santiago currently co-leads Alemão’s Crisis Cabinet, devoted to delivering humanitarian aid to the favelas’ residents during the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2020, Santiago was named as one of the 50 most creative people in Brazil by Wired.
