Artist Bio
Simon Payne’s work has been shown in numerous venues including: Anthology Film Archives, New York; the Ann Arbor, Edinburgh, London and Rotterdam international film festivals; EMAF, Osnabrück; Media City; the Serpentine Gallery, Whitechapel Gallery, Tate Britain and Tate Modern in London; and at the Hermitage Museum, St Petersburg. His videos are distributed by the artists' film and video organisation LUX, and they are also kept at the British Artists' Film and Video Study Collection at Central St. Martins College of Art. He has curated various film programmes and has also written widely on experimental film and video, most recently co-editing, the book Kurt Kren: Structural Films (2016). He teaches at Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge.
