Tian Jiang is an artist and graphic designer from Beijing, China. After she received her BA from the China Central Academy of Fine Art in 2012, Tian moved to Chicago and earned her MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
Her work as a visual artist focuses on graphic design, photography, video and installation art. Tian works across disciplines to create work focusing on urban modernization and how the changing environment affects people. Her sculptural video installation explores the space between material presence and projected illusion, for viewers, experiences which challenge the borders between the real and the virtual. Her interest is in combing new media and technology with electronic devices to represent social networks and urbanized cities.
