Ting-Tong Chang
Artist Bio
Ting-Tong Chang is a Taiwanese artist based in London. His satirical gaze leaves no aspect of society untouched. Revelling in the absurd and illogical, he makes a mockery of socio-political subjects ranging from the social and ecological effects of consumerism to the functioning of the art world itself. Working across the distinct practices of ink drawing, durational performance and kinetic sculpture, his transgressive practice co-opts science, technology and history to dissect the world around him.
Chang has exhibited and received a number of awards internationally. He participated exhibitions at Taipei Biennial, Warsaw Centre for Contemporary Art, Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts, Saatchi Gallery, Hull City of Culture and FACT Liverpool. Chang’s major awards are Edinburgh Creative Initiative Award, Royal British Society of Sculptors Bursary Award, RISE Award Art Central HK and Ibero-American Arts Award 2016.
Chang’s works are collected by Taipei Fine Arts Museum, Embassy of Brazil London and private collection in Europe and Asia.
