Artist Bio
Xiaoqing Zhu (b.1991) is a multidisciplinary artist, born and raised in Beijing, China, and currently based in Chicago. She graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 2014 with a BA in painting and completed her MFA in print media at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2017. Through video, installation, performance, photography and printmaking, Xiaoqing’s creations challenge the expected functionality of objects and the human body, exploring the correlation between human activity and the urban environment. Xiaoqing Zhu’s work has been exhibited nationally and internationally and is held in private and public collections throughout the United States and China.
