Artist Bio
Zixuan (Nikko) Zhou, born in 2002 in Chengdu, China, has a diverse academic background spanning science, management, and art. After completing her undergraduate studies in Cultural Industry Management, she is currently pursuing an MFA in Experimental Animation at the California Institute of the Arts. This interdisciplinary trajectory informs her work with a layered understanding of lived experience. Zhou works primarily with experimental moving image across various media, focusing on personalized visual languages and subtle collective emotions. She is currently exploring compositional theory and integrating its principles into her animation practice.
