Toward Entropy
The project series reimagines historically significant art exhibitions by transforming them into playful and immersive VR experiences. Among these, I have focused on three iconic exhibitions: Donald Judd at The Whitney Museum in 1968, Robert Smithson at The Whitney Museum in 1981, and Michael Heizer's Double Negative in 1969. Judd, Smithson, and Heizer are emblematic figures in the art world, known for their contributions to sculpture in the 1960s. Their works are not only physically imposing but also carry substantial symbolic weight in the context of art history. By utilizing VR technology, my goal is to subvert this sense of heaviness—both literal and metaphorical—by creating light and playful experiences that invite new ways of engaging with these monumental pieces.
