Artist Bio
Avital Meshi is a New Media Artist. She holds an MFA from The Digital Art and New Media program at UC Santa Cruz, a BFA from the School of The Art Institute of Chicago and a BSc + MSc in biology from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel. Meshi’s work focuses on social behavior through new technologies. Utilizing tools of participatory performance, Meshi creates immersive installations where viewers become engaged, interact with the new technology in an unusual way and see themselves through its lens. Her goal is to create spaces which provoke questions and conversations regarding our social identity in the age of virtual-reality and artificial intelligence. Past exhibitions include Currents New Media 2019, Root Division SF, Woman Made Gallery Chicago and more.

Avital Meshi was born and raised in Israel. She currently lives and works in California.
