Artist Bio
I am a documentary filmmaker focusing on arts and culture, and my work has also been shown in a gallery setting. For the BBC I produced a film on the Soviet Conceptual artists Komar and Melamid which was shown at IDFA. The BBC also adapted my book on Elvis’ Cuisine “The Burger & The Kingwhich won the Royal Television Society (UK) arts award for best arts program. I currently have an installation on display at Eastern State Penitentiary (a historical site in Philadelphia) about prison photography. My work has been shown at the Clocktower Gallery in NY and I was a participating artist at the 2011 and 2013 Athens, Greece, Biennale.
For the Athens Biennale I also organized an economics conference, themes which inform “Potlatch.” I am currently co-organizing the upcoming prison arts and activism conference “Marking Time” which will take place at Rutgers University in NJ. (I will include links to a NY Times Sunday art section profile of one of my installations, in the linked bio PDF)
