Artist Bio
Gabriela Tropia is a filmmaker whose work lies at the intersections of film, performance and choreography. Her films have been screened internationally, including Under the Cobblestones (with Igor & Moreno and Bellatrix), which was shown at Cinedans Festival Amsterdam and awarded at the Passion for Freedom Arts Festival, and Units of Action, screened in more than 10 countries and included in the Videodance Mercosul Compilation. She also directed and performed in Tableleg, presented at Sadler’s Wells Theatre, and has been commissioned by T.H.E Dance Company and the National Museum of Singapore. Her projects include the Jam Series, an experiment in improvised filmmaking, and an ongoing exploration of AI filmmaking as a form of artistic research. She is also a lecturer at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London.
