Hyomin Kim
Artist Bio
Dr. Hyomin Kim is Assistant Professor at New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) Center for Solar-Terrestrial Research (CSTR). He serves as Deputy Director of Polar Engineering Development Center (PEDC) for operation and on-site service of NJIT’s Antarctic stations for space research. He is also a science team member of the NASA Radiation Belt Storm Probe Ion Composition Experiment (RBSPICE) mission to study the Earth’s radiation belts. His main research interest is observations of the Earth’s magnetic fields to understand the Sun-Earth environment and development of magnetometers. He has visited various Arctic and Antarctic regions for operations of science instruments. He is also interested in art and science collaboration to encourage the broader community to engage in science activities.
