Artist Bio
sam anthem is a sound and performance artist who seeks to illuminate, turn upside down, animate, and resist socially-embedded and often invisible material relations that reproduce hierarchies of power across disparate beings and things. sam approaches art and life as a fool and a guest: a fool because they doubt and eschew status quo knowing; a guest because they walk on land and move through space that they never consider their own. Accordingly, as an artist who ¬unclaims their own materials and knowledges, they aim to platform agencies of affects, collaborators, neighbors, species, and inanimate things.
