By revealing the ever-changing status of abstract forms or landscapes, Lee is intentionally deepening the conceptual relationship between the entireties of shapes and the movements of their parts. His labor-intensive work produces eye-catching images with a rapid motion on the micro level, and a sluggish pace on the macro level. These contradictory characteristics in his work reveal outstanding representations with large-scale screens or multi-channel video installations. For example, the enormous Media Wall in Hyundai Vision Hall and Deep Space in Ars Electronica provided excellent environments for Sungjae Lee’s works, The Unanswered Questions 2016.
