Wojciech Gilewicz
Artist Bio
Wojciech Gilewicz (b. 1974) Polish American painter, photographer, installation and video artist, graduated from Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, Poland (1999) with a Master’s Degree in Painting (Minor in Photography). In his works, which combine all these disciplines, Gilewicz explores the phenomenon of illusion and the blurring of distinctions between reality and its artistic representation. He shows how relative and changeable our perception of the surrounding world is. Gilewicz’s practice invites reflection on the mechanisms governing perception and on the cultural determinants of the way we see.
